Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that will be presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle from Heathrow:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire at Heathrow, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. A valid full driving licence for the relevant vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Heathrow location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pick-up. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, subject to normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may attract extra charges, so please notify us promptly if you foresee a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges accrued during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Policies
- All car rentals from Heathrow include basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial responsibility. It is advisable to review these options closely. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional insurance is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, regardless of your insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period given. For specific information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities at Heathrow
Prohibited Uses for Your Hire Car
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading, as well as any hazardous operations. Transporting dangerous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, and all passenger and weight limits must be respected. Travel outside the designated geographical area requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Heathrow will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount you paid for your rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or for cases of fraud.
Governing Law in Heathrow
These Terms are regulated by English and Welsh law. All disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in England and Wales.
